The Duvernay Fieldhouse is located immediately adjacent to the Ircandia Outdoor Training Centre just off of 1st base on the home side of Seaman Stadium. The facility includes a full-sized infield with a Field Turf surface, six batting cages, two permanent and four portable mounds with capacity for complete “Dartfish” video analysis. The fieldhouse also features a Dawgs' home clubhouse, visitors clubhouse, a J Dawgs' clubhouse and an umpires change room. In keeping with the Dawgs' focus on player development, the facility includes a weight training room complete with a full workout area and gym including training bikes, treadmills, a squat rack, weight benches, full range of free weights, a universal gym and giant flat screen television.
Visitors will enjoy a comfortable viewing area and players benefit from state-of-the-art video equipment and computer software enabling the Dawgs' professional coaching staff to instruct youth players on pitching and hitting mechanics.
In June 2009, the Dawgs vision of a complete, full service facility to create opportunities for top young athletes to pursue collegiate and professional baseball careers was completed with the opening of the Duvernay Fieldhouse and Indoor Training Centre at Seaman Stadium. The $2 million Duvernay Fieldhouse was made possible by the generous support of Calgary energy entrepreneurs and philanthropists, Donald R. Seaman, the late Daryl K. (Doc) Seaman and Michael Rose, former CEO of Duvernay Oil Corp, now CEO of Tourmaline Oil Corp. The Dawgs were also fortunate to have the financial support of the Okotoks Rotary Club and Dawgs' management.
