The Dawgs tallied all five of their runs inside the first three innings.
Okotoks (26-8) jumped to an early 2-0 lead with a strong first inning.
Starting the game off with back-to-back singles, RBI doubles from UBC's Jaxon Valcke and Bellevue
University's Riley Baasch in consecutive fashion gave the Dawgs the early lead.
Later on, Bellevue infielder Baasch was solely responsible for all three of the third inning runs as his
base-clearing, two-run RBI double pushed the score to 4-0 before eventually crossing home-plate on a
wild pitch for the fifth and final Okotoks run of the game.
Okotoks cooled off the rest of the way but their hot start on offence along with productive pitching that
surrendered only five total hits was enough to separate them from the Giants to pick up their 26th win
of the season.
Point University pitcher Billy Brand took the mound for the 11th time, starting in his fourth game of the
season. The Burlington, Ont. native tossed six innings, surrendering a mere four hits and a lonely run
in his winning outing.
Fort Mac (17-18) tallied their only run of the contest on Brand's only mistake after plunking a batter
with the bases juiced.
Brand got out of the bases-loaded jam which was the key to his success, as he left eight total Giants
runners left on base during the contest.
The Okotoks bullpen took over from there as the relief efforts from Bellevue's Brandon Desjardins,
Linn-Benton's Dan Ferrario and Academy of Arts' Galen Manhard collectively allowed one hit down the
