WCBL 2020 Season Update

Okotoks Dawgs announced that at Sunday’s meeting of the board of governors of the Western Canadian Baseball League (“WCBL”), the league considered various options relative to the 2020 season in view of the ongoing global heath crisis. In particular, it was determined that:

1. The 2020 season would not be canceled at this time but the WCBL would continue to closely monitor the guidelines prescribed by health and government authorities;
2. In the event the 2020 season cannot be commenced in accordance with the published 2020 schedule, the WCBL would consider a shortened season commencing on or about Fathers’ Day (June 17, 2020) or Canada Day (July 1, 2020); and
3. In all events the WCBL will rigorously comply with health and government guidelines and treat the health and safety of players, coaches and fans as the absolute priority.

The Dawgs thank our fans and communities for their ongoing support and understanding and encourage all to follow the guidelines of Alberta Health Services and the government authorities. Further updates on the status of the Dawgs 2020 season will be posted on the Dawgs website at www.dawgsbaseball.ca and via the Dawgs social media platforms.
