Regina, SK - The Okotoks Dawgs faced the Regina Red Sox for the first time this season. The Dawgs took the fight to Regina with a 19-8 victory.
With this win against the Red Sox, the Dawgs now sit 34-12 in the WCBL season thus far.
The Dawgs lineup was an unstoppable force at the dish tonight where multiple players would get numerous hits. The Dawgs would see three bombs hit tonight, the first of which was shot by Logan Grant (Chestermere, AB) in the third. Grant went an impressive 5-for-6 tonight with two RBIs that included a home run and a triple. Spencer Sullivan (Linn-Benton CC) would hit the second bomb of the night in the fifth, making it his third home run in his last seven games. Sullivan went 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, NS) would crush the third home run of the night, going 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs. This home run would be Nash Bash’s seventh of the WCBL season. Finally, Jarrett Burney (Reinhardt University) had a great performance, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, AB) got the nod tonight and struggled surrendering five runs in his four innings of work. Brunner held it down in the third inning with a quick three-up-three-down allowing the Dawgs to capitalize. Ryan McFarland (Calgary, AB) and Cade Herrmann (Bellevue University) would step in and toss scoreless innings with a combined three strikeouts in two innings of work between them. Trey Mackwood (Calgary, AB) closed out the night, only allowing one hit and one run in the final two innings of the game.
The Dawgs continue their road trip in the East Division when they take on the Regina Red Sox, on Friday, July 25th. The Dawgs will return to beautiful Seaman Stadium on Tuesday, July 30th to take on the Lethbridge Bulls.
