Dawgs are excited to announce the return of Mitch Schmidt (aka the “Big Bear”) for the 2025 season. Mitch joined the Dawgs while serving as Associate Head Coach of the Bellevue University Bruins (Neb.) and was at the helm when the club captured the 2021 WCBL Championship, the first in a historic 3-PEAT of league championships. Mitch has been on medical leave the past 2 seasons and relinquished managerial duties to head coach, Lou Pote, who delivered further WCBL Championships in 2022 and 2023. While on leave Mitch has continued to be an integral part of the Dawgs off season player recruiting.
Dawgs fans can look forward to seeing Mitch in the dugout commencing on June 6th through the 2025 season. He will serve as Co-Manager along with former big leaguer, Lou Pote and along side Bench Coach, David Robb, Infield Coach, Andy Peterson and Pitching Coach, Joe Sergent.
Exciting news for all Dawgs fans! WELCOME BACK BEAR!!!
