Final Score: Okotoks Dawgs 6, Sylvan Lake Gulls 0
Date: Thursday, June 5, 2025
The Okotoks Dawgs’ pitching staff delivered a dominant performance, shutting out the Sylvan Lake Gulls in a 6-0 victory on the road. The Dawgs’ offense struck early and never looked back, led by a two-run home run from Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) in the top of the first inning and a late solo shot from Benito Bonilla (Missouri State University) in the 5th. The game was a complete team effort as the Dawgs extend their win streak to two in a row with a combination of strong pitching, disciplined hitting, and flawless defense.
There were countless highlights from the batters box tonight for the Dawgs including Ricardo Sanchez (Pittsburg State University) who went 2 for 4. As well as Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) who went 3 for 4 with a home run. Overall the Dawgs offense was firing on all cylinders but it was the pitching that truly stole the show. AJ Rogers (Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy) was in complete control, striking out six while allowing just three hits through six innings of work. The Dawgs out of the bullpen; Trey Mackwood (Panola State Community College), Nate Charlton (Mt. Hood Community College), and Frank Flores Jr. (University of Colorado - Pueblo) also dominated today throwing a combined shutout as a staff.
Following this victory the Dawgs hope to extend their win streak tomorrow Friday, June 7th when the Gulls travel to Okotoks to face off at Seaman Stadium.
