Dawgs Secure the Win over the Cactus Rats in Extras

Today’s game was a nail biter against the Energy city Cactus Rats. The two teams went back and fourth all afternoon but in the end the Dawgs were able to secure the win due to a combination of timely hitting, and a clutch pitching in the final two innings from Alex Oliver (Colorado State University - Pueblo). Benito Bonilla (Missouri State University) drove in what would be the game winning run which kept the Dawgs alive.
The game was tightly contested throughout, but it was the Dawg’s timely offense and reliable pitching staff that ultimately delivered the victory. After a strong start, the Dawgs relied on their bullpen to close out the game, including appearances from Brody Forno (Oklahoma Wesleyan University), Nate Charlton (Mt. Hood CC), Chase Tucker (Campbellsville University), Frank Flores (Colorado State University - Pueblo), and Alex Oliver stepping in for the final two innings, allowing just one hit and facing eight batters to pick up his first win of the season.
