Dawgs Split the Series in Swift Current

The Dawgs drop a close one tonight in Swift Current, losing by only one run. This now places the Dawgs at 21-10 on the season; however, they remain first in the West and second overall in the WCBL. Despite the loss, there were still some bright spots from the Dawgs, including starting pitcher tonight, Jayden Bahls' performance (Bossier Parish Community College), as well as a massive two-run home run from Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University).

Offensively tonight for the Dawgs, Kadyn Williams (Pittsburg State University) went 2 for 3 with one walk. Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) went 1 for 4 with a massive two-run home run that gave the Dawgs a brief lead. Nash Crowell came off the bench to pinch hit in the top of the 9th and came up with a single to put him at 1 for 1 on the day.

From the mound tonight, we saw appearances from 4 different Dawgs, beginning with Jayden Bahl (Bossier Parish Community College), who went 4.0 innings, issuing five strikeouts. Both Chase Tucker (Campbellsville University) and Anderson Tordiffe (Clackamas Community College) had very strong outings despite the loss. Tucker went 2.1 innings, allowing zero runs and striking out three. Tordiffe closed for the Dawgs with a quick three-up three-down inning, striking out two.

The Dawgs will now hit the road to head back to Okotoks for a weekend at home against the Brooks Bombers. The first pitch tomorrow is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
