The Okotoks Dawgs edged out the Lethbridge Bulls 6-4 on Wednesday night, holding off a late push in the bottom of the ninth. The Dawgs built an early 3-1 lead by the third inning and added three runs in the fourth. Despite Lethbridge’s attempt to rally, strong closing pitching secured the win for Okotoks, who limited the Bulls to zero runs in the last 6 innings.

Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) led the Dawgs offensively with a two-hit game, including a home run and two RBIs. Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) also contributed with a 1 hit day and two RBIs, while Logan Grant (Bellevue University) picked up two hits of his own. The Dawgs totaled eight hits on the night.

On the mound, Brady Baltus (Bellevue University) gave the Dawgs 5.1 innings and kept the Bulls in check. Chase Tucker (Campbellsville University) was dominant in relief, striking out all three batters he faced in the eighth inning. Alex Oliver (Colorado State University Pueblo) closed it out in the ninth, retiring all four batters he saw—including two strikeouts—to earn the save.

Tomorrow the Dawgs have an away double header which will be played at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks on Thursday July 31st against the Energy City Cactus Rats, the games are set to start at 5:05 and 7:30. Following the Dawgs will host the Energy City Cactus Rats for a 7:05 start on August 1.
