Dawgs Drop Game One Vs Gulls

The Okotoks Dawgs fell 7-3 to the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Sunday, with the visitors taking control early by scoring twice in the first and second innings. The Dawgs chipped away with two runs in the fourth and added another in the seventh, but Sylvan Lake’s offense added a late insurance run in the ninth that sealed the outcome.
Offensively, the Dawgs collected eight hits, with Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) providing the biggest swing of the day — a solo home run. Ricardo Sanchez (Gonzaga University), Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University), Nash Crowell (Tennessee Tech University), Logan Grant (Bellevue University), Aidan Rose (University Of British Columbia), Jake Skaggs (Pittsburgh State University), and Barry Eiseman (Reinhart University) each added a hit. Rose drove in a run, while Grant also tallied an RBI.
On the mound, Gavin Wuschke (Bellevue University) worked five innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out six. Reid Madariaga (Seattle University) and Garrett White (Bellevue University) each threw a scoreless inning in relief, combining for two strikeouts. The Dawgs’ bullpen allowed just one run in the final three innings.
