Dawgs Lose Game One to the Berries
July 15, 2025
Final Score: Dawgs 8, Berries 11
The Dawgs drop game one of the series against the visiting Saskatoon Berries despite a scorching hot start and scoring 5 runs in the first inning. Tonight's matchup between the best teams in their respective divisions was a back-and-forth contest where the Dawgs unfortunately fell short. They look forward to tomorrow to take game two and even up the series.
Offensively tonight for the Dawgs, the standout performer would be Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) as he went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI, and 1 walk. Ricky Sanchez (Pittsburg State University) and Jake Skaggs also contributed to the Dawgs' offence, going 2 for 5 each.
From the mound, Brody Forno (Campbellsville University) got the start, going a total of 3.2 innings, recording 1 strikeout. We then saw 5 other Dawgs out of the bullpen in a full staff effort to hold onto the lead. Despite the loss, Austin Collins (Okotoks Dawgs Academy) an affiliate player, came in to close the game with an incredible string outing going 2.0 innings allowing 0 runs, issuing no walks, and striking out 2.
The Dawgs will now look forward to game two of the series against the Berries, which will be here at Seaman Stadium tomorrow at 7:05 PM.
