The Okotoks Dawgs took their second loss of the season tonight from the Lethbridge Bulls with a final score of 4-9.

As for the standings in Western Canadian Baseball League 2024 season, the Dawgs now rank 13-2 andthe Lethbridge Bulls sit at 12-9.

The Dawgs will be on the road for the next four days, facing the Fort McMurray Giants. Seaman Stadium however, will be hosting a ‘Futures’ game on Saturday June 22, 2024. Where Dawgs Academy 17-18 year-old-teams Red and Black go head to head. Gates will open at 5:30, fans are encouraged to come cheer on their future Dawgs players.

Despite best efforts and the encouragement of a large crowd at Seaman stadium the Dawgs were unable to match the Bulls in runs. Tucker Zdunich (High River, AB) stood out offensively tonight. Zdunich lead the team with two RBIs. Jacob Wrubleski (Okotoks AB) was also a notable hitter in the game. Wrubleski cracked out a homerun for the Dawgs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Starting pitcher of the night, William Fife (Mesa Community College) shined during his time on the mound tonight, despite the teams loss. Fife pitched three full innings and had three strikeouts. Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, AB) closed out the night. Tocheniuk pitched one inning not allowing a single hit or run for the Bulls.

The Dawgs return to Seaman Stadium Tuesday June 25, 2024 to face Sylvan Lake Gulls.
