The Dawgs end the regular season on a high defeating the Bulls 7-1 on Saturday night. The Dawgs finish the season with a 40-16 record, making it two seasons in a row of hitting the 40-win plateau. The Dawgs also clinched the top seed in the WCBL. Up next for the Dawgs is a first-round matchup with the Fort McMurray Giants.

Brendan Luther (Bellevue University, NE) finishes the regular season on a 17-game hitting streak going 1 for 3 in tonight’s win. Trent Lenihan (UBC) would launch his 5th home run of the season and added 1 RBI finishing the night 1 for 3. Nash Crowell (Reinhardt University, GA) added 1 RBI tonight bringing his season total to 39. Conner Stewart (San Diego City College, CA) would add 2 RBI tonight bringing his season total to 14. Alejandro Cazorla (Bossier Parrish CC, LA) would record his 27th and 28th RBI on the season tonight, after going 3 for 4.

Garrett Maloney (Campbellsville University, KY) would get the start and go 2.0 innings tonight allowing 1 hit, and no runs striking out 1. The Dawgs would use 6 pitchers tonight in the win on Saturday night. The relievers would allow 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 8 Bulls.

The Dawgs will turn the page to the post season starting Monday August 7th at Seaman Stadium as they are set to host the Fort McMurray Giants for Game 1 with first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
