The Dawgs have been busy signing some key players to make a run at their 8th WCBL Championship and look complete the 3-peat in 2024.
Here’s a quick recap of the players coming back in 2024.
Graham Brunner
LHP | Emporia State University
Brunner has been a mainstay in the Dawgs rotation since his senior year with the Dawgs Academy. In 2023, Brunner was named our 2023 Pitcher of the Year, going 3-2 in 36.2 innings pitched with 42 Ks and a 3.43 ERA.

Seth Thompson
RHP | North Dakota State University
Thompson , another product of the Dawgs Academy and Calgary native, was a shutdown arm out of the bullpen for the Dawgs in 2023, making 25 appearances while logging 24 innings with 29 Ks and a 1.87 ERA.

Brendan Luther
SS | Bellevue University
Luther aka “Mr. August” has been the catalyst for a potent Dawgs offense since 2022 and has been named the WCBL Playoffs MVP the last two years.
In 2023 during the regular season, Luther hit .338 with 8 doubles, 1 HR and 28 RBI with 28 runs scored in 38 games.
Even more impressive was Luther’s postseason performance. In 7 games, Luther hit .344 with 11 hits including 3 HR and 10 RBI with 6 runs scored in 7 games en route to the Dawgs 7th WCBL championship.

Nash Crowell
1B | Reinhardt University
Nash Crowell will be coming back to Okotoks this summer as the Dawgs look to 3-peat.
In 2023, Crowell made his presence known in the middle of a potent Dawgs lineup. In the regular season, Crowell hit .287 with 9 doubles and 10 home runs while collecting 39 RBI.

Caleb Lumbard
Catcher | Okanagan College
The Dawgs’ backstop has been a leader on and off the field, playing a pivotal role as he has done a tremendous job of handling the Dawgs pitching staff the last two championship seasons!
In 2023, Lumbard hit .252 with 1 HR & 15 RBI while being elite defensively behind the plate with a .997 fielding % in 216 innings caught.

Logan Grant
Utility | Bellevue University
One of the most versatile players on the roster, Grant will be returning to the Dawgs in 2024.
With the ability to play corner infield, corner outfield and catcher, Logan brings tremendous value defensively while being one of the most consistent offensive players in the lineup.
Grant hit .344 during the 2023 regular season with 13 doubles, 1 triple & 3 HR with 26 RBI.

Connor Crowson
Infield | University of Montevallo
Crowson, an Okotoks native and Dawgs Academy product, will be returning for the 2024 season.
With his ability to play anywhere in the infield, Crowson brings defensive versatility to complement his offensive production.
Crowson was named the Dawgs 2023 Top Canadian Player of the Year and rightfully so! During the regular season, Crowson hit .351 with 6 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs with 22 RBI.
