Sylvan Lake, AB - Saturday June 8th, 2024, Game Recap at Sylvan Lake Gulls

The Dawgs were looking to gain some traction after taking their first loss of the season last night and they found it in the form of a tightly contested 3-1 victory over the Sylvan Lake Gulls at H4 Stadium.  

The standout in the Dawgs lineup tonight was French-Canadian Lou Anderson (Howard Community College) who went 2-4 tonight and smashed a 2 run home-run to put the Dawgs on top. Anderson's discipline at the plate was apparent after his performance tonight. Tucker Zdunich (Reinhardt University) also had a good showing tonight after putting the Dawgs on the board with an RBI single in the 4th. 

Garrett Maloney (Campbellsville University) got the nod tonight and was on fire right out of the gate. Maloney struck out 8 tonight at the plate after 6 innings of work only allowing 1 hit. Maloney’s impressive first half alongside some outstanding defensive plays kept the Gulls at bay. Seth Thompson (North Dakota State University) made the save tonight and helped secure the win in this close battle with the Sylvan Lake Gulls. 

The Dawgs will return to beautiful Seaman Stadium on Sunday, June 9th to find redemption against the Lethbridge Bulls after falling short last Friday. This Sunday we will also celebrate our third annual ‘Princess in the Park’ event where kids and families alike can watch the game and meet some of their favourite princesses.
