Tonight in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Seaman Stadium the Okotoks Dawgs won 7-for-2 against the Edmonton Prospects. Due to field renovations, the Prospects used Seaman as their home base tonight, letting the Dawgs hit first. Tomorrow, The Dawgs will face the Prospects again at Seaman, but with their usual hometown advantage.

This win brings the Dawgs total standings in the Western Canadian Baseball League 2024 season to 12-for-1. The Prospects now stand 3-for-9.

Offensively the Dawgs were led by hometown favourite Connor Crowson (Okotoks, AB). Crowson showed up at the plate getting three runs. Newcomer, Jarrett Burney (Reinhardt University) made a name for himself tonight. In the last inning Burney came in with a powerful single and got two hits and two runs in his first game with the Dawgs for the season. Barry Eiseman (University of Montevallo) who has been a reliable hitter all season, also had two hits in the game. Crowson, Tucker Zdunich (High River, AB), Logan Grant (Chestermere, AB), and Eiseman all had RBI’s.

Gavin Wuschke (Regina, SK) showed up for his team on the mound this evening. Pitching four innings only giving away two hits and striking out three Prospects. Brody Forno (Okotoks, AB) relieved Wuschke and carried on the theme of strikeouts, tossing two strikeouts over his two innings of pitching.
