Okotoks Dawgs sweep Giants in 4 game series

Okotoks Dawgs are on a win streak, dominating the past four away-games against the Fort McMurray Giants. The final score of this afternoon's game was 8-7 for the Dawgs. The Dawgs now rank 17-2 in the 2024 Western Canadian Baseball League season and the Fort McMurray Giants sit at 8-15.

Connor Crowson (Okotoks, AB) was the leader on the Dawgs offense with two RBIs, two runs and four hits in total. Designated hitter of the game, Jacob Wrubleski (Okotoks, AB) was another player to watch on the offense, with two runs himself.

Zane Morrison (Campbellsville University) kept the Giants at bay on the mound, pitching four innings and throwing three strikeouts. After five switches in pitchers for the Dawgs, Seth Thompson (Calgary, AB) closed out the evening. Thompson pitched one inning and was able to keep the Dawgs one point lead at the bottom of the ninth. Thompson allowed zero hits, zero runs and had one strikeout. The Dawgs next game will see them return to Seaman Stadium Tuesday June 25, 2024 to continue their win streak, taking on the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
