After being away in Fort McMurray for their last four games, the Okotoks Dawgs are finally back home. They took on the Sylvan Lake Gulls tonight in front of a packed stadium of fans. The Dawgs won 10-4 against the Gulls. 

The Dawgs rankings in the Western Canadian Baseball League is now 18-2 and the Gulls, subsequently, are at 16-6.

The Dawgs came out with big energy in the bottom of the third, after a first few small scoring innings. Brendan Luther (Mississauga, ON) led the charge scoring a double. In total, Luther had two runs and two RBIs. Another offensive leader tonight was Tucker Zdunich (High River, AB), with four RBIs he propelled his teammates forward to earn runs. Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, NS) cracked a beautiful home run. Crowell had two RBIs for the night as well.  Crowell wasn’t the only one with a homerun. Both Zdunich and Logan Grant (Chestermere, AB) hit off epic home runs for the Dawgs. 

On the mound tonight, Chase Tucker (Mount Pearl, NL) and Seth Thompson (Calgary, AB) were standouts amongst many strong pitchers. Tucker was able to keep the Gulls from earning any runs in the second inning and tossed two strikeouts to his one inning pitched. Thompson closed out the night for the Dawgs with an incredible performance. Thompson did not allow for any hits or runs and threw three strikeouts. 

The Dawgs go back on the road to Lethbridge to take on the Bulls Wednesday June 26th. The Dawgs next home game is Friday June 28th where they will face the Medicine Hat Mavericks for the first time this season.
