Okotoks, AB - The Okotoks Dawgs celebrated Canada Day tonight with a 10-4 victory against the Swift Current 57’s. The Dawgs felt the energy from a packed Seaman Stadium of 5,700 roaring Dawgs fans that carried them to the win. They closed out the night with a beautiful fireworks display.

With this victory the Dawgs now sit 21-4 in the season as they look towards continuing to improve their record for the rest of July.

Logan Grant (Chestermere, AB) got the Dawgs off to a hot start with a hard hit double to right-field which would give the Dawgs the lead in fourth. Grant had three RBIs tonight going 1-for-4. Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, NS) also played a good game today, going 2-for-4 with a solid line drive earning Crowell a double. The Dawg of the day, Aidan Rose (Calgary, AB) put the barrel to the ball, going 1-for-1 tonight with two RBIs.

The Dawgs bullpen showed their depth tonight keeping the 57’s at bay for the majority of the game. Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, AB) got the nod tonight, throwing four innings only allowing a single run and striking out six. Chase Tucker (St. Johns, NF), Greg Ross (Sarnia, ON), and Trent Warstler (Emporia State) would all toss scoreless innings today holding it down on the mound. Seth Thompson (Calgary, AB) closed out the night despite a bit of struggle surrendering two runs and one hit, Thompson would end the night strong striking out two in his single inning of work.

The Dawgs will be on the road Wednesday, July 3rd when they take on Lethbridge Bulls at Spitz Stadium where they look to get some redemption for their last two losses against Lethbridge.

They will then return to beautiful Seaman Stadium Thursday, July 4th to take on the Edmonton Prospects in a three game series. This Thursday we will also be celebrating ‘80’s Night’ where the Dawgs fans will be rocking out at Seaman Stadium.
