After a packed weekend of double headers the Dawgs lose on the road to Brooks.
The Okotoks Dawgs have been performing incredibly well this season, however after two days of double headers the Dawgs suffered a loss on the road to the Brook Bombers tonight, the Dawgs lost 1-8.
The Dawgs fall to, an impressive, 26-6 in the Western Canadian Baseball League 2024 season, while the Brooks Bombers improve to 10-25.
Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, NS) had the play of the night on offense. Crowell cracked off a homerun, earning the Dawgs only run of the night. This is Crowell’s second year with the Dawgs and his performance over the past two summer seasons speaks volumes for his capability at the plate.
Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, AB) was starting pitcher, and shut down the Brooks Bombers in the first inning, striking out two of their batters and getting the other out at first. Trey Mackwood (Calgary, AB) pitched his first game of the season. Better late than never, as Mackwood struckout two Bombers in the bottom of the eighth, and allowed no runs.
The Dawgs continue on the road tomorrow, Wednesday July 10 to visit the Sylvan Lake Gulls, for what will be the start of a three day series. Seaman Stadium will welcome the Dawgs home on Thursday July 11 when they hope to be encouraged and re-energized by a hometeam crowd.
