Okotoks, AB - The Okotoks Dawgs faced the Lethbridge Bulls in a heated back-and-forth contest that saw the Dawgs take the win. The Dawgs defeated the Bulls 9-7, securing another victory as the postseason grows closer.
With this win against the Bulls, the Dawgs now sit 36-14 in the WCBL season.
Jarrett Burney (Reinhardt University) extended his hitting streak to nine games today, going 3-for-5 crushing a double in the eighth. Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, AB) was a difference maker tonight, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the sixth which tied up the game. Logan Grant (Chestermere, AB) performed well, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Finally, Connor Crowson (Okotoks, AB) was a key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Blake Crippen (Bellevue University) got the nod tonight and had a bit of a struggle in his four innings. Despite this, the Dawgs would get back on track with Gavin Wuschke (Regina, SK) and Zane Morrison (Campbellsville University) stepping in and tossing scoreless innings with Morrison striking out the side in his single inning of work. Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) continued to demonstrate his fierceness on the mound striking out the side to close the game for his second appearance in a row. Luera made the save tonight for his sixth save of the season.
