Okotoks, AB -  The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Brooks Bombers on our ‘Fan Appreciation Night’ with a dominant 22-2 victory.

With this win against the Bombers, the Dawgs now sit 40-14 with the final homestand of the 2024 season coming to a close.

Multiple bombs were hit by the Dawgs lineup tonight, the first of which was hit by Spencer Sullivan (VCU) in the first. Sullivan performed well where he went 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Landon Kauffman (Okotoks, AB) crushed a three-run home run as well going yard in the third. Kauffman went 2-for-6 with four RBIs. The third and final bomb of the night was hit by Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, NS) in the sixth. Nash Bash had a two-run shot and excelled tonight, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Outside of bombs, the Dawgs had many offensive leaders tonight. Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, AB) and Caleb Lumbard (Regina, SK) got multiple hits tonight with Cazorla going 2-for-4 and Lumbard going 3-for-4 with three RBIs that included a hard-hit double. Finally, Jarrett Burney extended his hitting streak to 12 games tonight, going 2-for-4.

Greg Ross (Sarnia, ON) got the nod tonight and had a rough start in the first but would pull it together tossing two scoreless innings in the second and the third. Ryan McFarland (Calgary, AB) and Easton Corey (Linn-Benton CC) would throw the next four innings scoreless with a combined seven strikeouts. In a surprising turn of events, Ricky Sanchez (Lamar University) and Connor Crowson (Okotoks, AB) stepped on the mound and tossed a scoreless inning each to end the game.

The Dawgs return to beautiful Seaman Stadium tomorrow Sunday, August 4th to take on the Lethbridge Bulls for our annual ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ game.
