Okotoks, AB -  The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Lethbridge Bulls 7-4 in game one of the West Division Semifinals. The Dawgs now sit 1-0 against the Bulls in the first round of playoffs. After tonight, they are one win away from moving on to the West Division Finals. 

The Dawgs lineup was on fire tonight, recording 13 hits and two bombs in the win. Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, NS) crushed the first home run over the centerfield wall. Nash Bash went 2-for-3 with three RBIs that included a three-run home run in the fifth. Tucker Zdunich (High River, AB) went 2-for-4 and crushed the second bomb of the night with a solo shot in the seventh. Jarrett Burney (Reinhardt University) was an offensive leader tonight, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs that included a double with an error. Mr. August Brendan Luther (Mississauga, ON) also put runs up on the board, going 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the second. Finally, Ricky Sanchez (Lamar University) got multiple hits in the win, going 2-for-4.

Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, AB) got the nod tonight in game one and was solid on the mound. Despite allowing three runs from the Bulls, Brunner tossed three scoreless innings and struck out nine in his 5.2 innings of work. Gavin Wuschke (Regina, SK) stepped in and tossed a scoreless inning only allowing a single hit in the eighth. Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) closed the night and made the save, throwing his first scoreless inning of the postseason and striking out two. 

The Dawgs head to Spitz Stadium in Lethbridge tomorrow, Thursday, August 8th to face the Bulls in game two of the West Division Semifinals. If necessary, the Dawgs will return to beautiful Seaman Stadium for game three against the Lethbridge Bulls on Friday, August 9th.
