Sylvan Lake, AB - The Okotoks Dawgs fell short to the Sylvan Lake Gulls tonight, losing 5-3 after the Gulls walked off in game one of the West Division Finals. With this loss in game one, The Dawgs are 0-1 in the series against Sylvan Lake.
The leadoff man for the Dawgs, Brendan Luther (Mississauga, ON) was an offensive leader tonight, going 3-for-5. Ricky Sanchez (Lamar University) performed well, going 1-for-1 with an RBI that included a hard-hit double. Sanchez showed discipline at the plate tonight after getting walked on three separate occasions, his third of which led to the Dawg's first run of the game to be walked in from third. Shortly after, Logan Grant (Chestermere, AB) caught the Gulls off guard in the eighth, stealing home for the tying run. Finally, Caleb Lumbard (Regina, SK) got multiple hits tonight, going 2-for-4.

Ryan McFarland (Calgary, AB) relieved Crippen and threw three innings, all scoreless, only allowing two hits from the Gulls. Cade Herrman (Bellevue University) stepped in to relieve Zane Morrison (Campbellsville University) in the eighth and got out of the inning scoreless.
