Okotoks Dawgs are excited to announce three big additions to the pitching staff for 2025- Gavin Wuschke (Bellevue University), Andrew Herbert (Reinhardt University) and Owen Pote (Barton Community College).
Fans will be familiar with Gavin Wuschke as 2025 will be his third season with the Dawgs. In 2024, Wuschke saw limited action due to a wrist injury. In 7 appearances including 4 starts, Wuschke pitched 19 innings with a 5-0 record with a stifling 1.42 ERA. Look for Wuschke to have a major impact in 2025 as he is fully healthy.
Andrew Herbert will be dawning the Dawgs uniform for the first time. Currently in his senior year at Reinhardt University, Herbert will be an impact arm for both the Eagles and Dawgs. With a fastball in the mid-90's, Herbert will be sure to impress Dawgs fans! In 2024 for Reinhardt, Herbert made 19 appearances including 8 starts with 56 innings pitched while racking up 60 strikeouts.
Owen Pote has found his way back home from the Sylvan Lake Gulls to the Dawgs for 2025. Son of Dawgs Manager Lou Pote, Owen is currently in his freshman year at Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. In 2024, Pote made 10 appearances including 6 starts for the Gulls with 27.2 innings pitched and a 2.92 ERA. Pote was also selected in the 19th round of the MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
