The Dawgs came out on top in a high-scoring battle Thursday night, edging the Moose Jaw Miller Express 11–9 in a game that turned tense late. After trailing through the first half, Okotoks broke things open with a six-run seventh inning and held a comfortable lead into the ninth. The bullpen held strong as the expected late push from Moose Jaw came along and the offense had already built enough cushion to lock down the win and improve to 1–1 on the road trip.

Jacob Wrubleski (Gonzaga University) was the offensive engine for the Dawgs, driving in five runs on a 2-for-4 night that included a clutch 7th inning grand slam. Jake Skaggs (Pittsburgh State University) added three hits and two RBIs, continuing to be a consistent presence in the middle of the order. Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) and Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) each chipped in with multi-hit games, as the Dawgs racked up 16 total hits and applied pressure throughout the lineup.

On the pitching side, Brody Forno (Campbellsville University) gave the Dawgs five innings of work, recording four strikeouts. The bullpen included Cade Langford (Southwest Baptist University) who stood out in relief with a strong sixth recording two strikeouts.

The Dawgs now look ahead to their next matchup tomorrow, Friday, June 13, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where they will face the Mavericks. Following, the Dawgs return home for a Saturday, June 14 game against the Energy City Cactus Rats at 7:05. For tickets and team info, visit www.dawgsbaseball.ca/tickets or call 403-262-3294.
