OKOTOKS, AB – The Okotoks Dawgs are celebrating one of their own as hometown infielder Connor Crowson has been named the Western Canadian Baseball League's (WCBL) Most Outstanding Canadian for the 2025 season. The prestigious award recognizes Crowson's dominant performance at the plate, solidifying his status as one of the league's premier talents and a true local legend.
The hometown kid, who grew up through the Dawgs Academy, delivered a masterful offensive campaign that placed him atop multiple league leaderboards. Crowson finished the season leading the entire WCBL with a remarkable .503 On-Base Percentage. He was also second in the league in Batting Average at a scorching .401, and his 1.077 OPS (On-Base plus Slugging) ranked fourth overall.
The dynamic infielder, who split time at Third Base and First Base, was a constant force in the heart of the Dawgs' lineup, registering 51 runs, driving in 45 RBIs, and hitting 3 home runs across his 47 regular season games.
For Crowson, who also earned the 2024 WCBL Playoff MVP award for his walk-off championship home run, this recognition is the culmination of years of dedication at Seaman Stadium.
Interim Manager Lou Pote praised Crowson in saying "He has always been a dude for us on the field, but he is a leader for us in community, as well, and in the clubhouse. He hits .400 and does a great job every year for us defensively."
Despite the individual accolade, Crowson's focus is firmly on the team's ultimate goal. With one final season of eligibility remaining next summer, the Tennessee Tech University transfer is already setting the stage for his farewell tour.
The Dawgs organization congratulates Connor on this incredible and well-deserved honour!
