The Dawgs come out victorious tonight in game two against the Saskatoon Berries due to stellar relief pitching and timely hitting. Okotoks Dawgs Academy affiliate Preston Tocheniuk gained the win tonight after holding the Berries' potent offence scoreless through 5 innings. This puts the Dawgs at 28-14 on the season and cements their spot at the top of the West leaderboard.

Offensively tonight for the Dawgs, there were several standouts, beginning with Ricky Sanchez (Pittsburg State University), who went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI. His companion in the middle infield, Eric Machej (Illinois State University), also had a great night, going 2 for 4 with a leadoff single and a leadoff double. Additionally, our All-Star Nash Crowell (Tennessee Tech University) showcased why he was selected for the Home Run Derby this Saturday with a massive solo bomb that contributed to the Dawgs' win.

On the mound tonight, Brady Baltus (Bellevue University) got the start, going a total of 3.2 innings. However, Preston Tocheniuk (Okotoks Dawgs Academy) stole the show. Tocheniuk came in as relief and went a total of 5.1 innings, allowing 0 runs and striking out 4. His dominance on the mound elevated the Dawgs to a win over the top team in the league and was truly a spectacle to watch!
