The Okotoks Dawgs win their third, of four, away games at the Fort McMurray Giants, 9-1. While Dawgs academy 18U players get their chance to shine at Seaman Stadium.

The Dawgs now rank 16-2 in the 2024 Western Canadian Baseball League season and the Fort McMurrayGiants sit at 8-14.

Well known Dawgs player— Connor Crowson (Okotoks, AB) was a standout on the Dawgs offensive. Crowson had four RBIs and went two-for-three. The Dawgs as a whole showed up at the plate with Tucker Zdunich (High River, AB), Barry Eiseman (University of Montevallo) and Kadyn Williams (Emporia State University) cracking two hits each.

Garett Maloney (Campbellsville University) was the pitcher of the game tonight. Maloney only allowed one hit in his five innings of pitching. Maloney expertly threw four strikeouts and now has an ERA of 2.00. In total the Dawgs had eight strikeouts over nine innings and only allowed one run.

At Seaman Stadium, the up-and-comers in the Dawgs Academy went head to head in front of a huge crowd. Fans enjoyed the sunny weather while the Academy players from the Dawgs Futures and Dawgs Stars showed their promise and a peek into the future of Dawgs baseball.

The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium Tuesday June 25, 2024 to take on the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
