The Okotoks Dawgs are set to welcome back a familiar trio this summer, announcing the return of Jake Skaggs (Grand Valley State University), Jacob Wrubleski (Gonzaga University), and Reid Madriaga (Bellevue University) as the club reloads for another Western Canadian Baseball League campaign.
Skaggs returns after a standout season at Seaman Stadium, establishing himself as one of the Dawgs’ most consistent offensive performers. Appearing in 47 games, the outfielder hit .338, collecting 11 doubles, one triple and four home runs while driving in 19 runs. His ability to get on base and create offense was evident in his 45 runs scored, a total that regularly put pressure on opposing pitching staffs.
Wrubleski is also back in Okotoks after providing timely power in limited action due to injury. The backstop played 13 games last season, batting .260 with two doubles and two home runs. He finished with 12 RBIs and nine runs scored, giving the Dawgs valuable production when healthy.
On the pitching side, Madriaga returns after a spotless run on the mound in both the regular season and playoffs. During the regular season, he made five appearances, pitching 4.1 innings with four strikeouts and a perfect 0.00 ERA. He was equally effective in the postseason, throwing two scoreless innings over two appearances while striking out three.
With proven offense and reliable pitching coming back into the fold, the Dawgs will lean on the experience of Skaggs, Wrubleski and Madriaga as they aim to bring back another WCBL championship to Okotoks this summer.
