The Okotoks Dawgs came up a bit short tonight, falling to 3–1 on the season, against the Lethbridge Bulls in a 15–12 defeat in front of 3491 fans at Seaman Stadium. It turned out to be a beautiful night for baseball after this game, originally scheduled for May 31, was rescheduled to tonight due to rain. The Dawgs had 17 hits, keeping their bats rolling after a 26-run performance last time out, despite the defeat.

The Dawgs’ league-leading offence was led by Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University), who went 4 for 4 at the plate with two walks, and one RBI. Landon Kauffman (University of Portland) was another major offensive contributor, going 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. Jayden Lusk also went 2 for 4 with two walks in the loss.

Gabe Brabec led the way from the mound for the Dawgs, allowing only 4 hits and 3 runs in 3 innings of work. That starting performance was supported by the Dawgs bullpen, specifically Max McCraray (University of Houston) who pitched a shutdown eighth inning in an effort to keep his team in it. Youngster Nolan Jackson also impressed in his second appearance of the season, going 2 and 2/3 of strong relief.

The Dawgs now look ahead to their next game tomorrow night, Thursday, June 3, where they will travel to Brooks to face the Brooks Bombers for the first time this season. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. The Dawgs will then return home Friday, June 5, to take on those same Brooks bombers at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and team info, visit www.dawgsbaseball.ca/tickets or call 403-262-3294.
