The Okotoks Dawgs delivered another stellar offensive performance to beat the Brooks Bombers for the second consecutive night 10-1. After a 17-2 defeat of the Bombers last night, 5014 faithful Dawgs fans made it to Seaman Stadium to see the Dawgs notch their 5th win of the season. The Dawgs reached double digits again, collecting 11 hits to go along with their error free defence once again.

The Dawgs’ scoring attack was led by another outstanding performance by Cal Gates (Indiana University), who went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 runs, a walk, and a stolen base. Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University) was another big part of the production, going 1 for 2 with a walk and 4 RBI.

Hank Griffin (University of Mary) came through with a well-rounded effort, finishing 2 for 5 at the plate with two RBI’s, and playing a rock-solid second base.

Newcomer Tyson Willis (George Mason University) came out firing on the mound with a strong 5-inning performance, allowing just one run while striking out seven. That earned Willis the win. Wyatt Sadleir (North Central Community College) had a scoreless 1-2-3 inning of relief with three strikeouts. Dalton Hoffart (Hill College) also pitched effectively, limiting the Bombers to just one hit and inducing an incredible double play in a scoreless 7th.

The Dawgs’ shut down pitching and persistent offence clinched the game as they now move to 5-1 on the young season. They now turn their attention to their next home matchup tomorrow, June 6, when they host the Fort McMurray Giants at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and team info, visit www.dawgsbaseball.ca/tickets or call 403-262-3294.
