The Okotoks Dawgs continued their winning ways on Sunday, cruising to a 28-4 victory over the Brooks Bombers. Okotoks' offence stayed hot from the opening inning, racking up 23 hits in another explosive performance. The win marked the Dawgs' seventh straight victory.
Fuelling the Dawgs’ offence was Jeremy Kuiper (University of Louisiana), who went 5-for-7 with three runs, two home runs, six RBIs, a double, and a stolen base. Ayden Crouse (Indiana University) also had a big night, finishing 3-for-6 with five runs, two home runs, and three RBIs. Jayden Lusk (Vernon College), Hank Griffin (University of Mary), and Emmet Stacher (Linn-Benton Community College) added further production, combining for nine runs, 12 RBIs, and a home run apiece.
Gabe Brabec (Gonzaga University) set the tone on the mound with a solid four-inning start, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out four. Jerome Pare (Central Arizona College) delivered another impressive relief appearance, holding the Bombers scoreless over two innings while surrendering just one hit and striking out four. Ty Johnson (Ottawa University Arizona) shut the door in the final frame, striking out three and allowing no hits or runs.
The Dawgs’ all-around dominance on the mound and at the plate powered another lopsided win in Brooks. They now shift their focus to a road matchup against the Energy City Cactus Rats on Wednesday, June 17, before returning home to Seaman Stadium on Thursday, June 18, to host the Lethbridge Bulls at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and team info, visit www.dawgsbaseball.ca/tickets or call 403-262-3294.
