Okotoks, AB – The Okotoks Dawgs put on an offensive show early tonight as they scored 10 in the 3rd inning in a 16-9 defeat of the Lethbridge Bulls. The game was played on a beautiful evening for baseball in front of 3059 loyal Dawgs fans at Seaman Stadium. The Dawgs now extend their season-long winning streak to nine games.

The Dawgs’ explosive, league-leading offence on the day was led by another standout performance by Dawgs Academy alum Jacob Wrubleski (Gonzaga University), who went 3 for 5 at the plate, with 4 RBI, including a pair of RBI doubles. Fellow Dawgs Academy alum Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University), also went 2 for 5 with 3 more RBI. Dawgs Academy alum Landon Kauffman (University of Portland) also continued his torrid pace, going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI as well. They also combined for 16 hits as a team on the night.

The Dawgs bullpen once again came in and shut things down on the pitching side of things. Tonight it was Nolan Jackson (McCook Community College), Wyatt Sadleir (North Central Community College), and Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) who were lights out in the win, going a combined 6 innings and allowing just 4 runs. The lethal trio also combined for 9 strikeouts in those 5 innings. Luera closed it out in the 9th, setting down all 3 batters by way of the strikeout. The bullpen has been a rock for the Dawgs all year.

The Dawgs continue to impress as they battled back from an early 5-3 deficit for yet another victory moving them to a division leading 14-3 on the season. They now look ahead to their next matchup, a resumed game tomorrow in Lethbridge against the Bulls after it was paused on Tuesday due to a rain delay. They then return home Saturday, June 20, for a meeting with the Moose Jaw Miller Express on Viva Mexico Night at Seaman Stadium. First pitch for both is set for 7:05 p.m. For tickets and team info, visit www.dawgsbaseball.ca/tickets or call 403-262-3294. Can’t make it to the ballpark?
