The Okotoks Dawgs battled until the final out on Friday, June 19, but ultimately fell 6-5 to the Lethbridge Bulls as the clubs completed their postponed June 16 matchup. Behind a strong start on the mound and several productive innings at the plate, the Dawgs kept the pressure on throughout the game and stayed within striking distance until the very end.

Brody Papay (Wright State University) provided a strong start on the mound, setting the tone with four scoreless innings to open the game on Tuesday. He allowed just two hits and recorded four strikeouts, keeping the Bulls’ offence in check early.

Offensively, the Dawgs stayed competitive throughout the game, putting together several productive innings and creating opportunities against the Bulls. Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University) was a key contributor at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run and an RBI. Nash Crowell (Tennessee Tech University) delivered a timely home run in the sixth inning, finishing 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Dawgs will look to bounce back in the second half of today’s doubleheader against the Bulls in Lethbridge before returning home to Seaman Stadium tomorrow to host the Moose Jaw Miller Express at 7:05 p.m.
