The Okotoks Dawgs completed a four-game sweep of the Fort McMurray Giants on Saturday night, extending their win streak at Legacy Dodge Field. After trailing early, the Dawgs refused to back down, rallying with timely hitting to secure another road win. An eleven-hit offensive performance and errorless defence helped the Dawgs complete the comeback and earn an 11-9 victory.
Jordan Kievman (Wright State University) led the Dawgs at the plate, shifting the momentum with a timely fourth-inning solo home run and finishing 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Landon Kauffman (University of Portland) also delivered a strong performance, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs, and one run scored.
The Dawgs turned to the bullpen late to help preserve the comeback, with Dalton Hoffart (Hill College) battling on the mound to record three strikeouts. Blake Smith (Seattle University), Ryan Stone (Seattle University), and Wyatt Sadlier (North Central Community College) each added scoreless innings, helping limit the Giants’ offence and secure the victory.
The Dawgs will close out their road trip with a game against the Energy City Cactus Rats in Spruce Grove tomorrow, June 28 at 2:05 p.m., before returning home to Seaman Stadium for a July 1 matchup against the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
