Okotoks, AB – The Okotoks Dawgs dropped another tough one at home tonight to the Fort McMurray Giants by a score of 10-6. A group of 4,430 Dawgs fans came out to Seaman Stadium to cheer the Dawgs on at Cowboys and Curveballs night at the ballpark. It was a beautiful night for a ballgame, with sunny skies all night making for a great night out.

The Dawgs’ offense was led on the day by Nash Crowell (Tennessee Tech University) going a sparkling 3-for-4 at the plate. Newcomer Bryant Starr (Linn-Benton Community College) also had a nice night with a pair of hits, going 2-for-4. Lachlan Maude (University of New Mexico) came up with a hit of his own, going 1-for-3 with a walk, and driving in their only two runs of the night.

The Dawgs pitching stars on the night was their bullpen, who went five innings allowing four runs in another extended relief outing. One of the bright spots was Dalton Hoffart (Hill College) who gave up one run in a solid 5th inning. Emmett Stacher (Linn-Benton Community College) also had a nice inning of work, giving up just 1 run in the 6th. Korey Alston (Odessa College) threw a scoreless 9th inning with a strikeout in his Seaman Stadium debut.

With the loss, the Dawgs drop to 20-9 on the year. Okotoks continues their homestand tomorrow night, July 3, against the same Fort McMurray Giants.
