The Okotoks Dawgs delivered a strong all-around performance in a 6-2 win over the Lethbridge Bulls at Spitz Stadium on Wednesday, July 22. The Dawgs combined for 15 hits, while an impressive outing from the pitching staff limited the Bulls to just two runs.
Jordan Kievman (Wright State University) opened up the scoring once again for the Dawgs, with a 2RBI double in the third inning. The left fielder finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored, including a solo home run in the seventh that extended the Dawgs' lead. Connor Crowson (Tennessee Tech University) had another productive night at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run scored. Cal Gates (Indiana University) was also a strong contributor, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
Logan Rumberg (George Mason University) turned in a dominant four-inning start, striking out 10 while allowing no runs on two hits. Emmet Stacher (Linn-Benton Community College) followed with two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, allowing no hits and striking out three. Lincon Berg (Lower Columbia Community College) and Brody Burnette (Bellevue University) each added a strong scoreless inning of relief, combining for another six strikeouts.
The Dawgs now look ahead to their next home game Friday, July 24, where they will host the Brooks Bombers at 7:05 p.m. Friday night’s matchup will feature the Dawgs’ Christmas in July celebration, bringing festive fun to Seaman Stadium.
