The Okotoks Dawgs fell 4-3 to the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Friday, July 31 in a close matchup at Gulls Stadium. Despite the one-run defeat, the Dawgs collected 11 hits and battled until the final out, staying within striking distance throughout the game.

Ayden Crouse (Indiana University) led the Dawgs' offence, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, one run scored and a stolen base. Ricky Sanchez (Gonzaga University) added two hits, finishing 2-for-5 while scoring the Dawgs' first run of the game.

Xander Guedes (Okotoks Dawgs Academy) turned in two scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit while striking out four. Reid Madriaga (Seattle University) closed the game with 1.2 scoreless innings of his own, striking out four and allowing just one hit to keep the Dawgs within reach.

The Dawgs will look to bounce back in their next home matchup on Saturday, August 1, when they host the Energy City Cactus Rats at 7:05 p.m. Fans can look forward to Fan Appreciation Night at Seaman Stadium, featuring a chance to celebrate 20 memorable years in Okotoks.
