From the original Dawgs team to baseball’s biggest stage, Jim Henderson continues to give Dawgs fans reason to be proud. The Milwaukee Brewers’ Major League Pitching Coordinator is helping guide the club through this season’s postseason run, with Milwaukee holding a 2–0 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. A trip to the World Series is within reach, and an original Dawg is part of the chase.

Henderson’s connection to the Dawgs goes back to 1996, when he played on the original team coached by Dawgs owner John Ircandia. As a member of the original “Kore-4,” he helped lay the foundation for a program that would create opportunities for generations of young players. Henderson went on to become the first Dawgs alumnus to reach the Major Leagues, turning the dream of playing at the highest level into a milestone for the entire organization.

A former Brewers closer, Henderson now brings his big-league experience to Milwaukee’s pitching staff as a coach. His journey from the earliest days of the Dawgs to a Major League playing career and now an October run reflects the possibilities that inspired the program from the beginning.

Once a Dawg, always a Dawg!
